Inside Me
Woo hoo for a violin-filled weekend. ahhhhh I'm so glad that's over.
My weekend started Friday night with a rehearsel for my orchestra concert on Sunday. I wore a hat. And as my theory with hats goes, once u put one on, you immediately get hat hair and cannot take it off. So when I got to orchestra, I didn't take it off. And it must have been a funny looking hat, because when I stood up to tune the orchestra, everybody laughed. Especially Monica. Monica who was supposed to be playing the A, sat holding her oboe and laughing her ass off instead. So I explained to the entire orchestra about my hat hair situation. Then Mr. Vinick (where do mean people come from?) goes 'LOOK OVER THERE!' and I FELL for it. I looked over there and he pulled off my hat. I told him one of these days he's going to open his little baton holder thing, and it's going to be filled with snakes.
mwa ha ha.
Saturday morning, it was off to orchestra again. I was a good 15 minutes late. A record late for Saturday morning orchestra for me. After orchestra, it was straight off to my senior recital, where I had an hour to sit and think (or practice) before my sure-to-be-death. When I pulled into the parking lot, I got a nice surprise! The Beckers, (my cousins from Wisconsin) came all the way down to see my recital. Kyle and even Eric are as tall as me! How crazy! I felt really really short. And Kyle's voice got liek 2 octaves deeper, poor kid, puberty sux :P Of course...my voice never changed...but...other things....happened....;-)
ANYway...so they came, and I'm working up a good case of nerves, and then ALL THESE PEOPLE showed up. So I was sitting 'backstage' completely nervous, until the minute right before the show. My piano teacher said something about 'don't feel nervous' (because I obviously looked it) and at that moment I thought 'ME? NERVOUS?' so I just wasn't anymore...or maybe I was pretending I wasn't, but whatever it was, I just wasn't nervous anymore, and I went out there, and just did my best, despite not playing for about 8 measures in the Bruch because I screwed up. But I dind't even care, I got right back on. Afterwards, people were coming up to me and showering me with gifts and flowers and hugs and congratulations. I felt like a celebrity, it was glorious. Then I went out to the jailhouse restaurant with my grandma, grandpa, grandma, piano teacher, aunt, parents, three cousins, and sister. Eric and Autumn decided to randomly throw their ice cubes into other people's glasses. That was annoying. Kyle tipped over in his chair and like a bowling ball knocked over three more. That was quite amusing. Eric and Autumn ordered this ginormous thing of nachos and only had like...3 each...I sat, mostly with Sarah, and reminisced about third grade, which was a lot of fun. Over all we were being wayyy too loud for the 'fancy' restaurant we were in, but I had fun. When I got home, I meant to do my homework, but I got started talking to people. I dont even remmeber who. Then I was going into chat rooms and saying 'I have a potato. What should I do with it.' I got a lot of erm...interesting answers. The things you do when you're avoiding homework. hehe.
Sunday, I went to church, like most every Sunday. After church I went home for about an hour and then went off to the orchestra rehearsel before the concert. It was pretty uneventful. Uneventful and unexciting. During our like...hour and a half break though, Ethan, Sarah, and I went to Starbucks, where we got some hot chocolate. We were sitting in there near the window when this crazy guy in a lime green suit and an american-flag striped top hat walked by, followed by a man with a video camera. We laughed when we saw him and waved, and tehy waved back, then they walked into the alley across the street. The man in the suit set up a little artist's isle (sp?) with a picture of George Bush on it. then he began gesturing wildly toward the picture and just jumping around using his hands in apparant persuasive speech and the other man was video taping him. We sat watching this happen for awhile, they were apparantly doing it over and over, trying it from different approaches. Then the man went behind a little wall and jumped out on camera. This made us all laugh for some reason, and we began to die of curiosity. So eventually, five of us crossed the street and stood in front of the alley watching the man. He was saying 'CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAZZZZZZZZZZY LArry here! and then started going thru his spiel about George Bush and getting really into it. Then he ended 'and there are people WATCHING me!' and they both looked at us, and we laughed and asked them um...what are you doing? and they said they were doing some amateur commercial contest or something....yeah...looked like a real winner to me...ha...but it was quite amusing. Then Ethan Sarah and I just walked around the outside of the Raue Center for awhile, because our call time wasn't until like...4:30...Then mike and elliott came, what nice boys to drive from Wisconsin to come see my orchestra concert. I gave them their tickets and they went inside. Then Ethan, Sarah, and I went in the 'dressing room' and watched the concert on the little monitor in there. It seemed like forever before we got to play. But we played, and it was good, and then the concert was over, and my violin weekend was finally over. I was ecstatic. Then I went and found Elliott and Mike and we met Sarah and Ethan at Bennigans. On the way, Elliott called Chris, so he came too. We went to Bennigans because I had this gift certificate I've been trying to get rid of forever. So yeah, Bennigans was a good time. Chris and Elliott were in their own little world, talking about their bands and highschool memories, and God knows what else. I'd always tune in at weird parts of their conversations. I think they were talking about homeless people for awhile, lol. At any rate, it was amusing. Ethan ordered 'death by chocolate', which looked more like somebody killed the chocolate when he was finished with it. Mike turned the sticks formerly skewering Elliott's shrimp into drumsticks..lol...then Chris took a strawful of water and blew it at my face, which was funny but not since I was soaking wet after that. I grabbed Mike's iced tea and retalitated though, except I think I got more of the seat than I got Chris. Then people in the restaurant were staring, so we stopped. hehe. Then Sarah and Ethan left, and the rest of us went to Chris's house. I'm sorry, but I still think the Maxson's dog is so ugly! I was sitting on the couch with mike, and we were petting the dog and I was like 'you're-so-ugly-yes-you-are!' and mike was like 'it likes me better because I dont call it ugly'. He can have the ugly dog because I think it's ugly. The end. (no offense if u happen to like dogs with pink lips) I also think it's sort of funny that Peter lives at the Maxson's house. Mrs. M even yelled at him to do the dishes. Why does that amuse me? hehe Then we went out into Chris's garage where he played us a bunch of songs he recorded. Even though some of them were a little less than perfect..haha...I have to admit the boy has talent. Eventually, we got ready to leave, and I think Mike attempted to steal some little plastic ornament with a beard...but Chris was liek no...hmm...lol...we left and started home, but decided to take a detour over the 'look at the bridge!' bridge. (if u dont know that story, ask me some time it's amusing) and we ended up taking a pretty LONG detour that took us to Island Lake, then Crystal Lake, and finally back to Woodstock, where I had them drive past my school so i could show them the place where the Mary statue USED to be....(does anyone know where that went? i have no idea I haven't asked anyone though...) When we got to my house, Elliott had to get directions from my dad, and I cut off Mike's wristband from the concert he went to Saturday and tacked it up on my bulliten board. He was not happy with me, let me tell you. He was all like 'that was a part of me!' I am evil. At any rate, Elliott had to get back to school to do his laundry...so my dad sent them away with cookies and they left. After that I got online, chatted for like half an hour, and went to bed. Thus ends my weekend. This morning, I didn't go to school. Strangely, I"m more tired now than if I spent a whole day at school though, it's weird.
THe end.
It seems like it's been a really long time since I wrote in here, and it's only been two days. Two school days. Two actually incredibly short school days.
Today I decided malls anger me.
I drove 40 minutes to the nearest mall.
I spent at least 2 hours looking for a dress.
did I find one?
no.
There were plenty of dresses there...and they were all perfect!
for prom.
And welp...it's November.
Every single dress was spaghetti strap or sleeveless, unless I wanted to go into the old ladies section or wear a poncho. Even the skirts had matching tank tops. TANK TOPS
did I mention it's November?
I guess they're assuming women always wear their coats, even indoors.
They are not taking into account the cold blooded people like me.
Upon observing this issue, I marched up to the nearest register lady and asked her where all the cute long-sleeved or at least somewhat-sleeved dresses were.
She was like I dunno, but I've been asked that question a lot lately...
Duh.
Did I mention it's November?
Global warming isn't that quick folks.
it's been a glorious 4 day weekend. Simply glorious! Why? Because I wasn't in school silly. My weekend...hmmm...I dont even remember my weekend....let me think. Oh, Friday, I did nothing. I was going to go see the school play but I discovered I dind't have a car so that put a stopper in that idea. Then I was going to clean my room....ha...ha....I'm so funny sometimes....
Saturday I went to orchestra. Oh, it was exciting. Then I went out and bought a present for little Micah Schubring, and went to his 1st birthday party. He's a cute one! Silas was a little whiny. I would be too if my brother was getting presents and I wasn't. Then I came home, watched finding nemo, and sat on the internet until about 4 a.m. I got a free dvd player, because my dad randomly went out and bought a play station 2 and was liek here, u can have the dvd player. No problem dad, I will properly dispose of that for you. ;)
At 8, I woke up for church. After church I had a job in Cary. Another 50 bucks in my pocket. HOORAY! Then I came home and....hmm I didn't do much did I...Except clean my room....HAR HAR...I crack myself up.
Monday I woke up at 8 again and went to the square to take pictures with my doggy. She doesn't know the meaning of sitting still, so it was kind of funny. My mom came with to help control her, but she had to hide behind a tree because every time my dog saw her she tried to run away hehe. Then around 11 I had a rehearsal at a church for my senior recital next saturday. Which, I found out, more people than I thought are coming to, and i'm SOOOOOOOOOo nervous, because I dont feel prepared :
this morning, I was thinking...ahhh.....I get to sleep in....*sigh*....sleep...glorious sleep....
I frollicked in my happy place and it was good.
unTIL...
(dum dum DUM!)
a horrible pounding on my bedroom door and a rattling doorknob burst into my happy place at 6:50 a.m. and trampled all the pretty flowers.
I was displeased.
I had a great wrestling match with my covers...(the covers almost won) and groggily opened the door.
There stood my mother, steam blowing out of her ears, eyes popping out of her head, rage pouring from her nostrils...(oooh graphic). She opened her fearsome mouth and spoke:
WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WE NEED TO LEAVE IN TEN MINUTES AND UR STILL IN BED! I"VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS! YOU ARE NOT MAKING US LATE YOUNG LADY! FROM NOW ON I"M GOING TO COME IN MYSELF AND WAKE YOU UP NICE AND EARLY EVERY MORNING!
I stared at her coolly and replied:
'mom, I don't have school today.'
The frosty blast melted, she put on a pleasant face, and said in a voice as sweet as honey:
'oh! I'm so sorry! I forgot! *kiss on forehead* go back to sleep...*walks away pleasantly*'
I think that woman is bipolar.
the story ends happily though, because I returned to my happy place, replanted the flowers, and frollicked until the humane time of 11.
the end.
Now, I'm off to clean my room....
HA ha ha ha ha ha haha ha...
I had a good weekend. It pretty much started a day early so how could it NOT be good? Thursday night I went to wlc for a college visitation thing. This meant I got off school Friday, and got to see people I hadn't seen in over 2 months! I was so excited! I stayed with Emily and her two roommates. I took a tour of Milwaukee (with Beth!) and went to wendy's with Emily and her friend Ben (I hope that was his name I'm terrible with names). Then I drove around Milwaukee with Elliott and Mike and we went to Denny's at 4 a.m. I ordered cheese sticks. It was exciting. Then I pulled an all nighter with Mike and other random wlcers. First all nighter I've pulled on a school night, except it wasn't really a school night because I didn't have school. I did have to get up and go to a psychology class though. Overall it was fun I can't wait to go there next year. Marian already has the college workload without the college benefits, it sorta sux. The rest of the weekend was spent at camp! ah...camp....some highlights of camp this weekend 4 me were:
fazoli's(sp?) on the way and CHEESECAKE!
waking up for frisbee golf
british bulldog (123!)
reflections (the boys are NOT having a serious reflections tonight)
frosting the brownies with sarah jones
the dating campfire
matthew and beth 'falling in love'
'goodNIGHT!'
sitting in the comfy chair for campfire
our own little song period towards the end
the flashlight without batteries
hugging everyone at least 3 times before I left
