I had a pretty good new years. 3 1/2 hours up to lil 'ol weston wisconsin with my dad and sister to visit the cousins. My mom was sick so she stayed home and had a lonely (but quite nice and relaxing, she said) new years watching tv and eating a lot of junk. I, however, socialized with my cousins and kelsey harrington, who came up with her family as well. I spent an hour or so playing zelda in Kyle's room. Then Sarah Kelsey and I took Eric's $50 guitar from like...walmart and Kyle's snare drum and composed a few songs, with titles like 'the restaurant', 'air', and 'broccoli'. We were in Kyle's room with the rest of the kids, but once we really started getting into our playing, autumn, eric, and kyle all mysteriously left, walking rather fast, and shutting the door tight behind them. Hmm..I wonder why...;-). Then we moved it downstairs because sarah insisted on singing with the karaoke microphone instead of the computer plug she was using before. hehe. We then decided to dress hardcore and use excessive eye makeup and make a music video. Our music video consisted of my sister taping everyone at the wrong time...usually when they were doing something boring or makign the wrong sort of expression...like laughing their ass off...who laughs their ass off in a hardcore music video anyway? :-P And we were in Sarah's bedroom, sitting down, doing nothing exciting.
oh it'll be a best seller.
After we were done with that we just had to show it to the parentals. Not my idea, but the other two wanted to. So we got some strange looks from them, and a few sympathetic chuckles. Us three were cracking up the entire time though.
By this time, it was like...already almost 12, so we flipped around to find a tv channel with a count down, which was quickly found. Then it was happy new year and lots of confetti and wine. Then I talked to Mike on the phone for awhile, then Jenny. Jenny I called simply because she's an hour behind me off in AZ and I had to call at 12:30 my time and go 'way to be stuck in 2003 sucker!' she was like...thats ALL you called me for? and we had a good laugh. Then I was pretty much set for bed, and crashed on the couch in the basement.
Thursday I was the last one awake...even though I was like the first one asleep the night before. All the parentals took a drive around weston/wausau and my dad was supposed to leave us the keys so we could do what we wanted.
well, he didn't, and we spent like 40 minutes searching for them. We couldn't get ahold of any of the paretns because none of the cell phones were working and stuff..finally we got the phone to work with a calling card and managed to reach mrs. harrington, who said my aunt natalie said we could take their car...or rather...truck or...explorer...or whatever it was...it was a really nice vehicle though, and I was the only one who could drive, sooooo, I ended up driving it, and I was kind of paranoid I was going to hurt it, I think. We did exactly the speed limit, because there was no way I was going to get another ticket, adn in someone else's car too. We drove around weston, and then went bowling. (free socks!:-)) Then we went to fazzoli's in...wausau I think. And drove around wausau. Then sarah and kelsey wanted hair cuts so we were going to go do that but it was closed...so we went home and everyone from IL left but me....and I spent quality time with Kyle in his room playing zelda while he drew pixelated pictures and explained the ins and outs of various gaming related things, including the history of the game I was playing. I spent another restful night on the couch.
Friday My aunt and sarah drove me to wausau so elliott could drive me to camp. I sat and watched elliott play the sims for an hour or two, offering many suggestions which I"m sure he appreciated. (ha. ha.) Then he drove me and brian to camp. I was crammed in the back seat with a bunch of luggage and two guitars. We stopped at A&W for dinner and elliott spend like $2 (of my money) on gum balls. It was raining like the whole way up there, and when we got to camp, we parked in a puddle. hehe. Fun times. Maybe it's just chance, but it actually works out, that all the dirt at camp is sand. Sand's easier to wash out than real dirt. :-P. We played a game involving bubble gum and cards (I had gum on my lip the rest of the night and no one told me), and another game, then campfire. ah...campfire...Then I played hackey sack with aaron ceplina...or rather, tried to. He was teaching me. In case you're wondering, I'm not very good. But I did improve. What's sad is that I got out of breathe. Playing hackey sack. Yeah, I know. Pathetic.
Then it was bed. I was dead tired. But for some reason, I couldn't fall asleep. I always have that problem the first night of camp. After that I'm fine. But the first night...maybe it's the beds, or the fact that it was really cold that night, or maybe just being in camp in general, but I couldn't fall asleep, and I swear I lay there wide awake the whole night, except when I had some really frusterating half awake half asleep dreams. I had a long chat with God too. And I was suprisingly awake the next day.
Saturday was password and breakfast and a four way tug of war. Then it was anchor the flag and lunch and bible study, and lots of free time...maybe not in that exact order, I dont remember. I enjoy free time though. I helped Isa in the kitchen for awhile, and then went out and played football. Then went down to the boogar, came back up, warmed up by the fire, went back down to the boogar again, this time with more people. Aaron fell and rebroke his collar bone (ouch). came back in, warmed up by the fire (did that a LOT) etc. etc. until dinner....had to eat with our wrist tied to another person's. My was that amusing. Makes you eat less too. Then egyptian ratscrew. THen played the resolutions game. 'I will stop smoking crack!' hahaha...that was so bad, but so funny. Everyone knew what it was saying though! 'No. You're all wrong. It was 'I will read war and peace.'' Then camp fire...Then brian and elliott played a bunch of songs on guitar and that one drum... I forget the name, and I and others sang along. Then sat there with emily and lisa listening to them talk...then back to wisco and pretty much went to sleep right away...this time didn't have any problems. In the morning it was church and then cleaning cabins, and then the ride home with amy and emily k. Had to beat the snow :-P. we stopped at a gas station for food, because we skipped lunch at camp. I got beef jerky and it wasn't the good kind. On the way home we talked about getting hit on by old and random men. It was a good time. We pulled into emily's driveway just as it started to snow. THen I waited around 20 minutes for my dad, watching tv with emily. there was some commercial about a chocolate melting pot that could also make cheese fondu! hehe. The rest of the ride was just chattin with my dad. When we were almost in woodstock, there were like 5 cars spinning around on the road because of all the ice and snow. We narrowly missed spinning ourselves. No one and no one's cars were hurt. The rest of this week has just been a lot of homework. Stayed up late Wednesday night doing my government project. Then stayed up even later...about 3 am thursday night doing my psychology project. Went to bed right early friday night.
Today was the concerto competition and I won! Which means...I still have to practice that song because I need to play it with the orchestra in the spring. Its kinda cool that I won but I was kinda hoping I wouldn't so I could be done with it. Now I have to be nervous another like...4 months...
alright thats the end for now. Anotehr play by play of amber's life. how unamusing these have been lately.
oh well.
oh, and my computer caught a virus. I came home and it was spazzing and saying fatal thingamajigger detected! scan! scan! so I was like ok *scans* and it's all like you have the feared something something virus worm. Then a buncha info mumbo jumbo on what exactly it was. Which was...not good.
My dad spent most of the evening 'isolating it' whatever that meant. I think it had something to do with my dad in shining armor, battling the evil worm. At any rate, my computer is still screwed up, and I still get random ads with girls in bikinis when I 'm not even online...but at least it works.
the end.
